Tech FAQ

How easy is it to install your systems?
ReminderPro and LabRetriever both require experience installing an add-on board such as a modem or sound card. With assistance from our technical staff, you (or your consultant) can install and configure the hardware and software in about two hours.

Both ReminderPro and LabRetriever can also be purchased as a complete system, pre-installed and configured on a new PC and ready to connect right out of the box. You hook up these systems to your phone lines and start entering data right away.

How is my data protected and archived?
None of our systems that interface to your management software "write back" to your software, so your existing data is untouched. With the exception of our ActiveX controls, we do not make registry entries, so there is also no chance of a corrupted registry. We recommend that all computer users back up their data daily in case of a power surge or power failure. ReminderPro users should back up the main ReminderPro directory every day as a part of their normal backup process.

LabRetriever has a complete automatic archival process built-in. We recommend backing up the complete LabRetriever directory structure as part of your normal backup process.

Can your systems handle multiple languages?
ReminderPro can handle an unlimited number of languages, and includes pre-recorded prompts in English and Spanish. Other languages can be recorded by the user, or Inphonite, can provide professional translation and recording services at an additional charge.

LabRetriever allows you to record messages and prompts in any language you require.

What if I need to access your products from another location (remote connection)?
Many users utilize pcAnywhere (or other remote access software such as Carbon Copy) to remotely access their system. Remote access software is available from most computer software vendors. If you have remote access software installed on your system, we can also perform remote diagnostics and file updates for you.

What type of phone system or line do I need for Inphonite products?
Each port on a Dialogic voice board that you want to utilize requires a standard RJ-11 connection (such as that used by a fax, modem, or credit card machine). If you are connecting ReminderPro to a PBX phone system, check with your phone vendor to ensure there is an analog connection between the PBX switch and the extension. Also, confirm that standard phone equipment, such as a fax machine or modem, can be connected to this line. If you have a multi-line system, check with your phone vendor to verify you can connect devices that require single analog lines (eg., fax or modem).

We are based in a city with multiple area codes and 10-digit dialing. Can ReminderPro handle long distance calling?
ReminderPro includes a metro calling feature that handles virtually any combination of local and long distance dialing scenarios. By using our rules-based database of area codes and local exchanges, you can set ReminderPro to automatically recognize and correctly dial phone numbers as either local, 10-digit, or long distance.

Can I integrate my management software or scheduler with ReminderPro?
Yes, we currently integrate with most major databases, schedulers, and practice management software. ReminderPro includes a Custom Import Program at no additional charge. For more information regarding data import, please browse our Integration page or contact us directly.

Is on-site installation and training available on all your products?
If you prefer, you can take advantage of on-site installation and training services available from Inphonite or through our network of authorized Channel Partners.

Do I need a microphone to personalize messages using my voice?
No. All recording and playback for our inbound and outbound telephony systems is accomplished simply by dialing into the systems using your existing office telephone equipment. Dialogic's voice hardware assures you of crystal-clear voice quality every time.

Can ReminderPro and LabRetriever be installed on a network?
ReminderPro and LabRetriever are fully networkable.  However, voice hardware and software should not be installed on your network server (except in very rare circumstances).
